Medical Director & Expansion Lead (Telehealth / GLP-1 Weight Management) Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Telehealth Physician to lead our multi-state expansion initiatives and oversee the delivery of high-quality virtual care. This remote role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the growth of an innovative telehealth platform focused on GLP-1 weight management therapies, ensuring compliance with state-specific regulations while maintaining exceptional patient care standards. As the Expansion Lead and primary "Doctor Reference," you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategic plans, implement operational workflows, and foster relationships with regulatory bodies to facilitate seamless multi-state telemedicine services. Your expertise will drive the organization’s mission to expand access to healthcare and improve patient outcomes through innovative digital solutions. Responsibilities • Expansion & Strategy: Develop and execute strategic plans for multi-state telehealth expansion, ensuring compliance with all state-specific licensing, scope of practice, and telemedicine regulations. • Licensing Leadership: Lead efforts to obtain necessary licensure and credentialing across multiple jurisdictions for yourself and future clinicians, coordinating with our legal and regulatory teams. • Clinical Protocols: Collaborate with clinical leadership to establish standardized protocols for weight management and metabolic health, including inclusion/exclusion criteria for GLP-1 agonists (Semaglutide/Tirzepatide). • Collaborative Oversight: Serve as the primary Collaborating Physician for our network of Nurse Practitioners and PAs, reviewing charts and delegating prescriptive authority in accordance with state laws. • EHR Optimization: Oversee the integration and optimization of our Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to ensure seamless documentation, billing, and data security in compliance with HIPAA standards. • Clinical Quality: Monitor quality metrics, patient satisfaction scores, and clinical outcomes to continuously improve service delivery across all participating states. • Stakeholder Relations: Build relationships with state health departments, pharmacy partners, and licensing boards to support regulatory compliance and facilitate smooth operational expansion. Requirements • Education: Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution. • Licensure: Valid medical license(s) in multiple states (3+ preferred) OR eligibility for the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC). (Experience navigating licensure compacts is highly desirable). • Specialty: Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, or Obesity Medicine preferred. • GLP-1 Experience: Familiarity with prescribing GLP-1 medications and managing weight loss patients. • Tech Savvy: Proven experience in telehealth delivery including familiarity with telemedicine platforms and asynchronous communication tools. • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations including HIPAA compliance, synchronous vs. asynchronous prescribing laws, and state-specific telemedicine nuances. • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills in managing multi-disciplinary teams (NPs/PAs) and executing strategic growth initiatives. • Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to build partnerships with regulatory agencies and clinical stakeholders. • Remote Work: Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining high levels of organization and accountability.
