ASL-VRI Interpreter - Daytime, Evening, Weekend Shifts

Description: ? Facilitate communication access among Deaf and hearing communities ? Provide interpreting and/or transliterating services primarily in the healthcare environment ? Keep all medical information strictly confidential ? Follow the NAD-RID Professional Code of Conduct ? Render the message faithfully, always conveying the content and spirit of the speaker ? Accept assignments using discretion with regard to skill, setting, and the consumers involved ? Function in a manner appropriate to each interpreted situation ? Strive to further knowledge and skills through professional development ? Maintain high professional standards by virtue of professional membership, certification, and ethical practices. Requirements: ? Complete proficiency in ASL ? Valid certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) ? Knowledge of the NAD-RID Professional Code of Conduct ? Self-motivated with good customer service skills ? Able to work well with minimal supervision ? Good judgment and problem-solving abilities ? Strong attention to detail ? Ability to plan ahead and maintain a flexible work schedule ? Strong coaching, development, and communication skills ? Experience using MS Office and other related software and systems (e.g., Internet and Intranet applications) ? Medical interpretation experience Benefits: ? Sign on bonus ?
