Key Responsibilities Develop and Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Collaborate with families, staff, and students to create and implement IEPs that meet the unique needs of each student, ensuring their academic and personal growth. Stay Current with Best Practices: Remain informed about the latest legal requirements, research, and best practices in special education, incorporating this knowledge into your teaching practices. Collaborate with Educators and Support Staff: Work closely with teachers, general education specialists, and support staff to ensure student success, sharing your expertise and insights to inform instruction. Provide Personalized Instruction: Deliver instruction to students in one-on-one or small-group settings, adapting curriculum to meet the diverse needs of every learner and promoting academic achievement. Essential Qualifications and Skills To be successful as a Virtual Special Education Teacher with Workwarp, you'll need: Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or a Related Field: A degree in special education or a related field, such as education or psychology, is required. A Master's degree is preferred. Special Education Endorsement: A valid teaching license with a Special Education endorsement in the state of New Mexico is required. Experience Working with Students with Diverse Needs: Proven experience working with students with diverse needs and abilities, including those with IEPs. Strong Knowledge of IEP Implementation and Development: A deep understanding of IEP implementation and development, including the ability to create and implement effective IEPs.
