Key Responsibilities: What You'll Do as a Scoot Substitute Teacher Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in various educational settings, including elementary, middle, and high schools. Build strong relationships with students, teachers, and school staff to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment. Demonstrate flexibility and initiative, particularly in high-stress situations, to ensure the continuity of learning. Continuously reflect on your practice and seek feedback to improve your teaching skills and effectiveness. Participate in paid training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge. Essential Qualifications: Who We're Looking For To succeed as a Scoot substitute teacher, you'll need: A background in or passion for education, with a commitment to putting students first and celebrating their success. A growth mindset, empathetic nature, and a drive to be the best version of yourself. Reliability, punctuality, and professionalism in your work. A high level of competency, common sense, and the ability to bring fun and engagement to the learning process. A 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit or a CA Teaching Credential (while not mandatory, having one of these qualifications can increase your work opportunities). Preferred Qualifications: Additional Assets While not required, the following qualifications can enhance your application: Experience working in educational settings, such as elementary, middle, or high schools. Specialized training or certifications in areas like Special Education, Math, Science, or English Language Arts. Previous experience with Scoot Education or other educational staffing companies.
