Analytics Engineer (contract)

Job Title: Analytics Engineer Location: Hybrid/Remote About The Role We are looking for an Analytics Engineer who can bridge the gap between data science, data engineering, and business problem-solving. This role will focus on creating reliable analytical workflows, improving and updating machine learning models, and transforming complex business requirements into executable technical solutions. You will work closely with SMEs to deeply understand operational context — while still being hands-on in Python, SQL, and cloud tooling. What You’ll Do • Build, enhance, and update Python-based analytical workflows, including ML model updates/refinements • Translate stakeholder/business requirements into clear technical implementation steps • Query, model, and transform data using SQL, Pandas, and NumPy • Design and validate analytics with strong quality assurance practices • Work independently on analysis, model upgrade tasks, and code contributions • Collaborate closely with SMEs to understand real operational or domain constraints • Deliver analytics and visualizations using Bokeh • Use Git version control for collaborative development • Leverage Google Cloud Platform for analytics workloads and ML integration activities Must-Haves • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field • Strong Python development background (not just notebook work) • Google Cloud Platform experience • High-level understanding of machine learning concepts and model integration processes • SQL querying fluency • Pandas + NumPy hands-on • Quality assurance mindset • Ability to work independently • Experience translating business ask → technical plan • Bokeh data visualization experience Good-to-Have • Data modeling + ETL exposure • Agile/Scrum delivery experience • Oilfield domain exposure • Dataiku experience • Performance optimization / workload profiling • Signal processing background • Engineering discipline background Trainable / COE Enablement • CI/CD pipelines & DevOps tooling • Prognostics & health management analytics techniques The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $42.35/hour - $66.18/hour.
